Copenhagen
I attended the KPMG Global Advantage Program and spent a week in Copenhagen
Copenhagen was my hidden gem of a city. I didn't know what to expect, but I quickly realized what a charming city it was! The Global Advantage Program taught me how to be a better leader and work with people from different cultures. We got the chance to visit one of KPMG Denmark's audit clients, Den Blå Planet Aquarium. I hadn't been to an aquarium or zoo in a decade, and it isn't something I actively look to do. Yet, I actually had such a great time! It was so cool to see all the animals - they had all types of fish, a rainforest exhibit, and an outdoor area for Sea Lions. I also went on a tour of the Christiansborg Palace and learned a lot about the history of Denmark.
After the conference, I decided to stay a few extra days on my own. I stayed in a hostel for the first time and had such a great experience. I got a little sick, though, so I didn't do as much as I would have liked; I slept a lot and took it very easy. However, I did take a trip to the Vikingship Museum, where I got to sail on one of the ships. I loved my time in Copenhagen; it is such an endearing corner of the world. I met so many people and am already looking forward to going back.
